Tune in tomorrow for the Far Cry 6 gameplay debut

Ubisoft has confirmed the global gameplay reveal of its next dysfunctional dictator sim, going live on the intertubes this weekend.

Since the game’s announcement in July 2020, Far Cry 6 has been a conspicuous no-show at subsequent events, including Gamescom and The Game Awards, and was delayed from its original launch date on 18 February. A leak in November claimed that the new launch date would be 26 May, but that was yesterday and… no Far Cry 6. I guess that was a bust, huh? For now, according to the press stuffs, it’s out “later in 2021”.

Far Cry 6 is an open-world first-person shooter that plunges players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution set in Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time under the oppressive rule of President Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito). As he vows to restore his nation to its former glory while grooming his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez) to follow in his footsteps, players will embody Dani Rojas, a local military dropout turned guerrilla fighter in their quest to overthrow the tyrant and unite the nation.

You can watch the gameplay reveal tomorrow on Ubisoft’s YouTube or Twitch channels at 18:30 local time.
