Take-Two expects to release 21 games between now and early next year

And, before you get all hopeful, none of them are likely to be GTA 6 – sorry.

Take-Two Interactive, the video game publisher behind mega-popular franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Borderlands, just had its end-of-year review call and it seems they’ve got a lot going on. The company has plans to release 62 titles between now and 2024, 21 of which will arrive before March 2022. It sounds like a lot until you realise just how many sports games Take-Two is responsible for.

If this all has you wondering if (yet-to-be-officially-announced) GTA 6 might be amongst those titles releasing later this year, only four of the 21 are labelled as “immersive core” (a category we assume things like GTA belong to) and two of those four are confirmed to be for entirely new franchises (so not GTA).

Then, we know that WWE 2K22 and another NBA 2K are inevitable, so GTA 6 doesn’t stand a chance. Also, the imminent release of a sequel to one of their most successful and lucrative franchises is probably something Take-Two would have mentioned to their shareholders and/or the world.

According to the slides, we probably shouldn’t expect to see GTA 6 (if it actually exists beyond rumours and leaks) before 2024.
