Rambo and John McClane join Call of Duty tomorrow

Two iconic 80s action heroes are hitting Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Mobile starting tomorrow, so will you die hard or draw first blood? Why not both?

We saw the super subtle hints last week and now Call of Duty has officially announced its ’80s Action Heroes event, featuring Legendary Operators Rambo and John McClane. CoD is embracing the 80s, mullets and all. But it’s not just the new Operators to look forward to, Verdansk is also getting some new points of interest for a limited time – Nakatomi Plaza, the Survival Camps from First Blood Part II, and a CIA Outpost. Check them out for quality loot, new missions, new rewards, and maybe even reinforcements.

But that’s not all, there’s also a limited-time Power Grab game mode that features a smaller starting circle collapse and no Gulag. To revive team mates you’ll have to use the Buy Station or collect a sufficient number of Dog Tags, dropped by eliminated Operators or rewarded for completing Contracts. The Dog Tags also get you special rewards like a UAV, Respawn Token, and Advanced Gas Masks.

You thought they’d add Rambo and not a Combat Bow? No. Rain down death with its explosive-tipped arrows, you maniac.

You’ll find both Rambo and John McClane in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from 20 May (06:00 SAST) to 20 June. Mobile launch follows on 21 May (02:00 SAST). To manage expectations, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis did not record new lines for the game. Activision pulled lines from the movies, instead.

Yippie kayak, other buckets!
