By the power of Greyskull! Masters of the Universe: Revelation is looking faaaaabulous

Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation looks like your brain likes to pretend it always looked like when you were a kid.

Directed by Kevin Smith, Masters of the Universe: Revelation follows on directly from the end of the 80s cartoon show plenty of us still remember from our childhoods, but for adults this time. According to Variety, the first episode “revolves around a life-changing battle”, between He-Man and forever-nemesis Skeletor, that leaves the planet of Eternia, and many of He-Man’s friendships, broken. Teela steps in to reunite everyone and save the universe, because I guess He-Man is too busy?

The cast includes Chris Wood as He-Man, Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, Stephen Root as Cringer, Griffin Newman as Orko, Diedrich Bader as King Randor and Trap Jaw, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, and Justin Long as Roboto. Fans of the original Skeletor may be pleased to know that his voice actor, Alan Oppenheimer, returns as Moss Man.

And if that wasn’t enticing enough, it’s animated by the same studio that brought us the rather excellent Castlevania. There’s no trailer yet, but check out these official pics while you wait:

Masters of the Universe: Revelation launches on Netflix on 23 July.
