Volume 2 of the animated anthology series Love Death + Robots hits Netflix on Friday, 14 May, and they want you to know that it’s not for children with their latest red band trailer. Unless your children are allowed to watch things full of literal and figurative fucks, gore, and exploding animals – I’m not here to judge your parenting techniques.
There are only eight stand-alone episodes this time around, compared with 18 in Volume 1, ranging in style from 2D cartoon, to stop-motion, to disturbingly photo-realistic CG (we see you, Michael B. Jordan). With some based on the works of influential sci-fi authors like Harlan Ellison and J.G. Ballard. Here’s the episode list:
- Automated Customer Service
- Ice
- Pop Squad
- Snow in the Desert
- The Tall Grass
- All Through the House
- Life Hutch
- The Drowned Giant
The series is presented by Tim Miller (Deadpool), David Fincher (Mindhunter), Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen (Mindhunter). Volume 3 is due to follow next year. Although, given the reduced number of episodes, it’s probably more like the second half of Volume 2.
