Marvel’s Carnage is finally coming out to play in this first proper look at the Venom sequel.
The sequel to 2018’s Venom, Let There Be Carnage picks up some time after the events of the first film, with Eddie Brock living his best symbiotic life in somewhat harmony with goo-based alien warrior Venom, trying to avoid eating people – the usual. Still an investigative journalist of some description, Eddie appears to be involved in finding the hidden victims of local serial killer, and mega-fan, Cletus Kasady, who is due for execution. But, surprise, someone imbued the psychotic murderer with another alien symbiote (for reasons) and Carnage is unleashed, literally. Prep for blood.
And Spider-Man is still busy/doesn’t exist in this parallel universe of Sony’s making, so Venom is going to have to begrudgingly save the day again.
As teased, Woody Harrelson is playing Kasady/Carnage and Tom Hardy returns as Brock/Venom. Other cast members include Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Stephen Graham, and Reid Scott. Let There Be Carnage is directed by Andy Serkis, everyone’s favourite ape impersonator.
I feel like the only person in the world that actually enjoyed the humour in Venom, so looking forward to this.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is coming to for-realsies cinemas on 24 September.
