True to trickster form, the Loki series will arrive earlier than expected

Pretty on-theme for a show about messing with time.

Previously set to premiere on 11 June, the Loki series will now launch on Disney+ two days earlier, on 9 June. Which means it’s a Wednesday (Odin’s day if you want to get Germanic about it) instead of the usual Friday (Frigg’s just not as cool, I guess), as was the approach with other recent Marvel spin-offs WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Weekly episodes will then be released every following Wednesday for its six-episode lifespan.

Loki follows the misadventures of everyone’s favourite trickster god as he is tasked with fixing the timeline he inadvertently broke when he stole the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki and the rest of the cast includes Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Wunmi Mosaka.

Want to know what the future MCU has in store beyond Loki? Marvel recently dropped a Phase Four trailer so we all know just how long we’ll have to wait for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
