One Piece Wedding

A One Piece wedding to celebrate the unspeakable chaos of your union

I, too, have always likened my relationship to the most dangerous place in the world, only navigable by the hardiest of pirates.

Tokyo-based bridal company ESCRIT has announced a One Piece wedding plan, based on the mega-popular pirate anime/manga franchise, including One Piece-related decor, marriage certificate, meals, and wedding favours, in order to celebrate “the beginning of the couple’s journey to the ‘Grand Line'”, according to the press release. Which some fans might find a little curious.

The Grand Line is an ocean current in One Piece, central to its plot, that encircles the world along its equator. It sounds very romantic when they describe it as “uninterrupted forever”. Less so when called what it actually is; a pirate’s graveyard absolutely riddled with monsters. Although, that probably describes plenty of marriages – zing.

I mean, they could have focussed on the couple finally finding their “One Piece” in each other or becoming the pirate kings of each others’ hearts, or something equally romantic. I guess it’s meant to be about the adventure of it all and I should stop being such a picky weeb. Anyway, the decorations look like fun for any One Piece fan.
