Call of Duty: Warzone goes back to the 80s for Season Three

Verdansk is dead, long live Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone Season Three.

Season Three of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone is currently live and if you thought Verdansk was destroyed in that little nuclear incident, you were correct, so we’re going back in time to 1984 (the science behind it totally tracks, it’s fine, what even is time?).

And it’s not just a reskin. While the overall shape is the same, Verdansk has been overhauled to better match the 80s aesthetic with retro-fitted areas and buildings offering new gameplay options and encouraging new tactics. One entirely new area is Factory, situated where the car dealership and water treatment facility used to be. The area features four large warehouses used for aeroplane maintenance, an underground passage, plane parts scattered everywhere, numerous outbuildings, chimneys to scale, and a whole plane for you to climb.

The time travel technique also means Warzone can now snuggle nicely with Black Ops Cold War’s story. Check out the details of all the major changes on the official Verdansk ’84 overview.

This all looks pretty cool, but you can’t just come in here, pumping an Eye of the Tiger remix, making people want to play Warzone. It’s not fair to those of us already in a committed battle royale relationship.
