Max Payne 3

Updates to LA Noire and Max Payne 3 quietly add all previous DLC for free on PC

Good news, if you’re still playing, or just getting into, 2011’s LA Noire or 2012’s Max Payne 3 on PC (there’s got to be someone), you just got a bunch of free stuff and you probably didn’t even notice.

Rockstar stealth-updated LA Noire and Max Payne 3 on PC recently, quietly adding all previous DLC game content without making much of a fuss about it, no big deal. The only exclusion is for LA Noire: The VR Case Files (released in 2017), which did not get any free stuff – booo. Alongside the updates, support for 32-bit operating systems was also deprecated, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem for anyone these days, 64-bit has been the standard for new systems since 2008.

Praised for its storytelling and facial animation LA Noire is a detective game, based in the 1940s, in which you work through a number of cases, solving crimes by searching for clues, interrogating suspects, and pressing skip when the action sequences get too hard. In Max Payne 3, now-retired, still-alcoholic and grizzled AF detective Max is working as executive protection for the wealthy Branco family in Brazil. But then a wife is kidnapped and Max must bullet-time his way to sobriety.

The DLC adds a whole bunch of additional content from cosmetics to maps, new modes, and story missions.
