Netflix’s excellent NSFW animated anthology series Love Death + Robots is back next month, so get ready to FEEL ALL THE THINGS.
For the uninitiated, Love Death + Robots is an adults-only, animated anthology featuring short films (usually under 17 minutes long) mainly in the fantasy, sci-fi, and horror genre, often featuring the voices (and occasionally faces) of famous folk. The shorts can be funny, they can be heart-breaking, they can make you question the existence of cats, but mostly they’re a gorgeous experience for your brain and your eyeballs.
Volume 1 featured 18 shorts so I would expect Volume 2 to be similar. The rapid-fire trailer makes it difficult to discern and Netflix hasn’t given out many details yet. As of writing, Volume 2 isn’t even mentioned in the app. What we do know is that Volume 2 is presented by Tim Miller (Deadpool), David Fincher (Fight Club), Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen (Gone Girl) and at least one robot apocalypse is probably sparked by dog poop.
Naked giants, Christmas demons, and robots-gone-wild… Consume irresponsibly.
Oh I will, Netflix, I will.
Volume 2 of Love Death + Robots begins on Netflix on 14 May with Volume 3 following some time in 2022.
