EA recently announced that Apex Legends Mobile is going into closed beta testing soon for Android devices.
Alongside a first look at what to expect from Apex Legends Season 9 – Legacy, game director Chad Grenier revealed that the mobile version of Apex Legends will soon be going into beta testing for Android users, starting with a few thousand players in India and the Philippines. New regions, and iOS support, will be added as the testing phase expands.
Based on the battle royale you’re familiar with, Apex Legends Mobile is an entirely separate, new version of the game, optimised for touch controls on mobile devices. Free to play, like all other versions of Apex, Mobile will feature its own Battle Pass and unique cosmetics not available to PC or console players. EA was careful to stress that none of the paid items will ever grant the owner any gameplay advantage (because mobile). Since Apex Legends Mobile is so different, the game will not have any crossplay functionality with PC or console, sorry.
If you want to get involved, follow the Apex Legends Twitter account and be on the lookout for a dedicated sign-up page once testing begins to roll out to different regions.
