The latest Apex Legends Stories from the Outlands just dropped, giving us some backstory on upcoming Legend Valkyrie and reminding everyone, once again, that the mega-popular battle royale is set in the Titanfall universe.
Respawn has been scattering Apex Legends Season 9 teasers about on Twitter and in-game (collect some keycards, find some holosprays, it’s a whole thing) over the last few days, but now we’ve got a new Stories from the Outlands cinematic ahead of a proper introduction to the new Legend.
Titanfall 2 fans will have last seen the hyper-mobile Northstar Titan piloted by an enemy named Viper. Well, turns out he had a daughter (you monster) and Valkyrie is joining the Apex Games for vengeance reasons, with the help of a Rampart-modified Northstar chassis – hence her hover capabilities. No doubt we’ll get official confirmation of her full skillset soon. Rumour has it they include cluster missiles.
In other new Legend news, recent leaks have revealed a potential upcoming character named Pariah, rumoured to have sonar grenades and weaponised steam. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, this is Valkyrie’s time to shine.
Season 9 of Apex Legends begins on 4 May.
