The latest Outriders patch aims to prevent future inventory wipes, but you’ll still have to wait for the Great Restoration if you already lost your loot.
A new patch dropped for Outriders yesterday, 15 April, and developers People Can Fly believe that it should prevent any future inventory wipes from occurring. The inventory wipe bug was present in the demo, came bundled with the official launch, and then was made worse with a previous patch, but now it should be fixed. As the name suggests, some players were losing all their hard-won loot, leaving them with nothing but their badass space-superpowers to their name.
To manage expectations, this patch won’t bring your gear back if it was already lost. For that, you’ll still have to wait for the global restoration event that should happen soon, if the latest patch proves as effective as they believe it is. The devs would also like to warn players that inventory items might become invisible momentarily after experiencing connectivity issues – DO NOT PANIC. A simple game restart should bring them right back. Yes, they’re going to fix this new problem in the next patch.
The upcoming restoration process will not require a patch to be implemented.
