The latest update from People Can Fly suggests that server changes, made last night, 11 April, around 22:00 SAST, should have drastically reduced the number of inventory wipes in Outriders, after the latest patch apparently made that whole situation a lot worse.
The first big Outriders patch went live across all platforms over the weekend, hoping to bring some relief to players plagued by sign-in bugs, multiplayer issues, and random crashes. The patch includes a number of stability fixes, and enables crossplay again for everyone, but instead of fixing an enraging inventory wipe bug, the patch apparently made it worse – awkward.
Since the recent patch we have seen an increase in reports of this issue – resolving the inventory wipe is our top priority and will remain so until fixed.
Hopefully, last night’s server fix does the trick. If your inventory was wiped, People Can Fly still intends to do a “one-off mass restoration” in the near future (exact date and time TBD) to get your most valuable stuff back, including Epic and Legendary gear. Just don’t expect any low-tier loot. Also, it might not be exactly the same gear you lost. But you will get some free stuff for your trouble.

I haven’t managed to play past the Outriders prologue yet (when we got multiplayer to work it was very jittery and quickly crashed), so holding thumbs this patch means I can finally get into it. The little bit I did play was actually fun.
