Marvel’s Loki is all set to right time wrongs in the eponymous series for Disney+.
You remember when Loki grabbed the Tesseract and escaped the Avengers’ custody during the “time heist” sequence in Avengers: Endgame? Well, turns out that act of defiance caused all manner of time chaos, drawing the attention of the Time Variance Authority (TVA). So, the Loki series follows the time-jumping adventures of said God of Mischief (and our hearts) as he is tasked, by the TVA, with setting things right and saving reality.
The Loki series takes place after Avengers: Endgame, but features pre-redemption Loki as he appeared in 2012’s The Avengers, so forget about all the adorable character development that followed in things like Thor: Ragnarok. This Loki is all anti, minimal hero. SPOILER ALERT: that’s also why he’s not dead.
Tom Hiddleston is obviously back as Loki and the rest of the cast includes Owen Wilson (as Mobius M. Mobius), Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Wunmi Mosaka.
Does this mean there’s a chance Loki will pitch up in Thor: Love and Thunder or some other MCU film down the line? Only time will tell.
Loki begins streaming on Disney+ on 11 June.
