See what I did there? Whatever. Brighten up those Zoom calls with a myriad of Tetris-inspired hues.
Cosmetic company NYX has partnered up with Tetris to produce an eyeshadow palette, eyeliner kit, and two lip kits inspired by the retro arcade experience, but specifically Tetris. This means plenty of bright neons and shiny metallics – embrace that 80s comeback lewk. Obviously, the eyeshadow palette, featuring 80 rectangular colour pans, is the most Tetris-ey of the lot, with certain shades grouped together in some very familiar Tetris block shapes (their official name is Tetriminos). The eyeliner and lip products just come in boring pens and tubes, for lame functionality reasons.
I foresee this being a Christmas go-to from distant family members who know “she likes those TV games”. Yes, I know anyone can wear makeup, regardless of gender, but your distant family member probably doesn’t. It’s why your brother keeps getting cash and you have an endless supply of moisturiser. If you’re not into Tetris, there’s always ColorPop’s more subdued Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection which launched earlier this year.
You can unlock these cosmetic upgrades when the Tetris x NYX product line launches on 28 March. NYX products are available in South Africa, but it is unclear if you’ll be able to get this collection locally without the help of the internet.
