Borderlands Movie Tiny Tina

Tiny Tina cast in Borderlands movie, so maybe we’ll get Handsome Jack too?

Which rules out a straightforward adaptation of the first Borderlands game, but that’s not such a bad thing. Everyone knows that Borderlands 2 is where it’s at.

Anyway, yes, the Borderlands movie, which already has my trepidation dialled up to 11, has just cast Ariana Greenblatt (Love and Monsters, Avengers: Infinity War) as Tiny Tina, the extremely unstable, hyper-quotable, 13-year-old demolitions expert who first shows up in Borderlands 2. Nothing wrong with the casting, it just has me wondering about the plot.

In the game, Tina helps the Vault Hunters blow up a Hyperion supply train that’s potentially carrying a Vault Key. You can also help her get revenge on Flesh-Stick, a charming individual that sold Tina’s family as test subjects for Handsome Jack’s experiments, which led to the deaths of her parents, and a whole mess of mental trauma for her.

So, if the movie keeps that version of Tina (and there is an extremely high chance that they won’t), we could get to see a screen adaptation of Handsome Jack – the greatest villain in Borderlands history.

Greenblatt is joining a weird, but talented, cast that so far includes Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Jamie Lee Curtis (Tannis), and Jack Black (Claptrap).

Hands up, anyone else that suspects they’re going to make up an entirely new story that nobody wants to see.
