DOTA: Dragon's Blood

The dragon comes for war as Valve partners with Netflix for animated series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood

Follow the adventures of Davion the Dragon Knight in DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, coming to Netflix next month.

Based on the popular MOBA you may have heard of, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is an eight-episode, animated series from Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts), Valve, and Netflix, featuring DOTA 2 heroes Davion the Dragon Knight and Mirana the giant-tiger-riding Princess of the Moon. The teaser trailer doesn’t tell us an awful lot, so here’s the synopsis according to the Netflix press release:

The sweeping fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.

It’s rated for ages 16 and up, so expect hefty amounts of blood and maybe boobs. Ashely Edward Miller (Black Sails, X-Men: First Class) is showrunner and executive producer.

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will be available to stream on Netflix from 25 March.

This is cool and all, but I’m still waiting for Arcane, the animated League of Legends series, which was delayed by the pandemic and should be out some time this year.
