Iron Gate, developers of the runaway Viking hit Valheim, recently announced that they’ve sold over two million copies of the survival game in just under two weeks. By Odin’s beard!
We wanted to start by sharing a giant troll-sized thank you! In just 13 days Valheim has been purchased by over two million Vikings, and this weekend we reached a new peak concurrent player milestone of 360,000!
That’s kind of a big deal for yet another Early Access survival crafting game, especially one with graphics that make it look like it belongs on a PS1 (which was an aesthetic choice by the designers). And the Steam community is digging it; Valheim is currently hanging around the top three most-played games on the platform.
Which is cool for the PC people, but will Valheim be coming to consoles? According to the FAQs, Iron Gate didn’t have any plans to do so, but doesn’t want to “rule out console versions in the future”. Given their impressive sales numbers, that future may not be so far away. However, Iron Gate is, currently, only five people and they have a whole list of updates planned for the PC version of Valheim this year, including a new biome, so we may have to be a little patient.
If you want in on this viral Viking sensation, you can find Valheim on Steam for R130.
