Available exclusively on PS5, the “Maiden” demo introduces Resident Evil Village’s Castle Dimitrescu, a mouldering baroque château with a sinister reputation that’s one of the game’s major locations.
The demo is a standalone experience featuring an unnamed protagonist – the epononymous “maiden” – who is imprisoned in the Dimitrescu’s family home. Because it’s Resident Evil, you can probably expect that things are about to get much worse.
“The Maiden demo doesn’t take place during the main story of Resident Evil Village,” producer Peter Fabiano explains on the PlayStation Blog. “Maiden was originally designed as a visual demo that would allow you to explore the inside of Dimitrescu Castle, but it evolved to include a short story and puzzle solving.”
Resident Evil Village launches on 7 May on PC and consoles.
