CD Projekt Red is working on a “permanent solution” to Cyberpunk 2077’s epileptic seizure problem

Responding to cautions online that the game’s Braindance feature can provoke actual, for real epileptic seizures, the studio has promised to include a “separate warning” for players that’s presumably more obvious than the obligatory loading screen warning that most people skip anyway, and is working to implement some kind of fix “as soon as possible”.

Game Informer editor Liana Ruppert suffered a grand mal epileptic seizure while playing the game, and published a PSA about it, recommending that photosensitive players “look away completely or close your eyes” during some sequences. That’s obviously not much help for those players who missed the PSA, however.

Besides epileptic seizures, the animation glitches and pulsing light effects described by Ruppert could also cause migraines, making Cyberpunk 2077 now a worrying prospect for a lot of potential players.
