I know we haven’t published much since Monday. I mean, I wrote “we” but it’s mostly me at the moment for boring administrative reasons that aren’t super important and also because 2020 is the worst.
ANYWAY.
My job is more complicated than I think some of you realise. Besides writing articles, editing other people’s articles, drinking an obscene amount of coffee, ignoring my email inbox, and not finishing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, I’m also the NAG website developer and designer. Okay, it’s WordPress, so maybe it’s less “development” and more “making up random code until it works”, but I choose the fonts and colours too and that’s like an entire existential drama.
ANYWAY.
So the thing is, I’ve been busy with that stuff this week, including:
- Implementing a permanent solution to display the website skin from our ad server instead of our CMS (also an entire existential drama that’s taken me two years to solve because PHP is hard, and now that it’s working, kind of, my brain is constantly trying to come up with a different solution because ADHD is hard too, and also because it’s got some glitches)
- Fixing other glitches
- Fixing the glitches caused by fixing the other glitches
- Optimising the mobile version of the website
- Revamping our newsletter system because it’s a hot mess
And because it’s mostly me, remember, I haven’t had time to write articles on top of everything else. Except this one, obviously, and like, some others. But not much, and I’m sorry about that. I promise that by next week things should be back to normal. ♥
