Maintaining its multi-gen commitment to obtuse firmware update info, Sony has dropped a 900MB firmware update that does… what exactly?
I mean, according to the PlayStation website, it “improves system performance”, but that’s kind of, you know, obtuse. Consistency is fun.
Since it launched in the US last week, users have complained of a number of problems with the PS5 – most significantly a c-c-c-combo game version and download queue glitch necessitating a complete wipe to fix. According to Tweaktown, the firmware update doesn’t resolve this. Other issues include a rest mode glitch with some games that can corrupt the console’s database, graphics glitches, and lots of crashes.
The PS5 launches in South Africa tomorrow, so you can manage your expectations in time for the inevitable apoplexies. #BLESSED
