Tali’s Baby Diary starts filming in Cape Town and taking photos for Instaaaaa, babes

Showmax has confirmed that a new season of the local comedy show Tali’s Wedding Diary is now in production, with an “unexpected pregnancy” (… mazels?) transforming the wannabe social media queen into a momfluencer, because what else.

Tali’s Baby Diary features SuzelleDIY YouTube star Julia Anastasopoulos as Tali Shapiro, Jozi Shore creator Anton Taylor as her husband Darren, and My Kreepy Teacher‘s Glen Biderman-Pam as family sort-of-friend and colleague Rael, back for more mega-cringe moments and awkward selfies in the sequel.

In Tali’s Baby Diary, an unexpected pregnancy forces Tali into a desperate pivot from Insta-influencer to wholesome momfluencer, as Darren and Rael navigate the choppy waters of the Cape Town property game. But as the nine-month clock ticks down, Tali and the boys are forced to face the bigger questions about life, love and parenthood.

Just as the first season was inspired by Anastasopoulos’s for-reals wedding to show co-creator and director Ari Kruger, the second season is based on the for-reals birth of their daughter in 2018.

“We thought there was so much comedic material in getting married, but it doesn’t come close to preparing to have a baby,” she explains in the press stuffs. “Having a baby in today’s world of insta-perfection has offered us so much wonderful comedic material.”

“Fans have been asking for a second season since Tali’s Wedding Diary first aired,” adds Showmax’s Candice Fangueiro. “I think we all need a laugh after the year we’ve had, so we can’t wait to have Tali back on Showmax in early 2021 as our first renewal.”

Ja, please.
