In this week’s edition of Lol, That’s Kind Of Ironic, hackers have uploaded the 558GB source code onto multiple public file-sharing websites, just like they would if they were actually in the game.
According to ScreenRant, this opens up the game to exploits – disabling the copy protection system, for example, and supporting custom mods. I’m starting the clock on the inevitable “noodskinz” now, because you know that’s going to be a thing. The game’s multiplayer mode isn’t out until next month, but because that’s limited to co-op, the equally inevitable cheats shouldn’t be much of a problem for players.
Ubisoft hasn’t commented on the leak for the moment so the marketing department has time to claim it’s a super clever, totally meta joke.
