Borderlands 3 Amara Phaseflare

Amara and FL4K’s new skill trees revealed for upcoming Borderlands 3 DLC

In the first of a series of scheduled reveals of the Designer’s Cut DLC for Borderlands 3, Gearbox has provided details about the fourth skill tree for Amara the Siren and FL4K the Beastmaster.

First up, Amara is getting Cryo damage as part of the Enlightened Force Skill Tree and her new Action Skill is Phaseflare. With Phaseflare, Amara summons a bowling ball of energy that constantly damages nearby enemies. Amara can direct the ball around the battle field and it gets bonus damage based on the amount of melee damage she does to it. The ball can be upgraded to heal and revive nearby allies, fire out projectiles, and further increase its damage. Amara’s new Keystone ability allows her to ignore Elemental Damage Resistance for a short time after killing an enemy. Check out the whole new tree on Amara’s character page.

Then, FL4K is getting an ION Loader pet as part of the Trapper Skill Tree and their new Action Skill is Gravity Snare. With Gravity Snare, FL4K throws out a trap that temporarily stuns and knocks up nearby enemies and continues to to do so, periodically, for the duration of the Action Skill. The ION Loader pet comes equipped with a sniper rifle and can be upgraded to a BUL Loader for in-your-face attacks, or a WAR Loader to unleash a barrage of missiles. FL4K’s new Keystone ability is a passive that increases their shield capacity whenever they activate their Action Skill. Check out the whole new tree on FL4K’s character page.

In order to gain access to the all the new skills trees coming to Borderlands 3, you’ll have to either purchase the Designer’s Cut DLC separately or as part of the Season 2 Pass that includes both the Designer’s Cut and the Director’s Cut. The Designer’s Cut launches on 10 November.
