Apex Legends Aftermarket

Apex Legends Aftermarket event is live and Pathfinder gets a little buff

Who’s ready to fly on a zipline? The Apex Legends Aftermarket event update is live (and around 9GB on the Xbox One), bringing with it the cross-play beta, the limited-time Flashpoint game mode, and a buff for your cheerfully-deadly robot pal Pathfinder.

Pathfinder fans, who’ve been feeling sad since their boy’s Grapple cooldown got nerfed back in Season 5, may be pleased to hear that Grapple is getting some love in the latest patch. It’s not a full revert back to 15 seconds, but Grapple will now drain energy related to the distance travelled. So, if you swing a short distance, the cooldown will be shorter (minimum 10 seconds), but reach further and the cooldown will be longer (maximum 35 seconds).

Bad Pathfinder players, no longer need to fear the faceplant grapple quite as much.

And I feel seen. Good Pathfinder players should still be able to have fun, though, zipping around shorter distances with more precision and generally being a menace to everyone they encounter – hooray.

However, with great buffs must come some nerfs. Most notably, Wraith is getting hit with a sprint animation change that will make her more upright and, thus, more easy to hit. The hunched-over posture was making her, already tiny, hitbox even smaller, which was a little unfair when paired with all that mobility.

Depending on what we see after these animations go live, we may even be able to put some power back into her abilities (no promises though).
