Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is finally getting some repeatable, PvE endgame content and if you haven’t seen 2011’s Indonesian action-thriller The Raid, just go watch it already, because then the reference will make sense.
Announced during Ubisoft’s recent State of the Game livestream (beginning at the 9:45 time marker), The Summit is a new PvE mode coming to The Division 2 that will have you fighting your way up 100 floors of a skyscraper. Floor layouts, enemies, and directives are randomly assigned for every play through (so you’ll always face something new) and difficulty increases as you ascend, with a boss fight every 10 floors and legendary content from the 81st floor upwards.
The goal, obviously, is to make it to the 100th floor, where you will rewarded handsomely for your achievement. However, once you defeat a boss, you can start new runs from the floor above (a rally point), so you don’t have to try get through all 100 in one sitting (although you’re welcome to try).
There’s no release date for when The Summit will arrive in The Division 2, but it is being added to PC player testing from 4 September, so it can’t be far away. The Summit will be free for owners of the Warlords of New York expansion.
