Announced at IGN’s Gamescom 2020 event, Freelance Police (and 90s LucasArts icons) Sam & Max are back in an upcoming VR game by Happy Giant.
In Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual, you’ll be teaming up with Sam and Max as their newest recruit in the fight against monstrous evil. We don’t know an awful lot about it, yet, but it’s a Sam & Max game, so expect much cartoon violence and absurd shenanigans to ensue.
Starting out as a comic strip, Sam (the anthropomorphic dog) and Max (his rabbit-ish partner) became known to gamers with the release of LucasArts’ point-and-click adventure game Sam & Max Hit the Road, in the 90s. The duo has featured in a number of different games since then, but the last we saw of them was Telltale Games’ Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse in 2010, so it’s been a minute.
Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual is due to launch some time in 2021.
