With the Crain family’s drama resolved (sort of), Netflix’s 2018 creep show The Haunting of Hill House is getting an American Horror Story-esque sequel that re-introduces the original cast as a totally new ensemble of victims who could’ve avoided this entirely if they’d stopped to think about it.
Launching in time for the holidays, The Haunting of Bly Manor is more of the same, but different. Based on Henry James’s genre-defining 1898 gothic horror novel The Turn of the Screw, the second season stars Victoria Pedretti (Hill House’s wretched sister Nell) as Dani Clayton, an American who takes a job tutoring the Wingrave kids Miles and Flora at Bly Manor. Which, guess what, is super haunted. The clue’s in the name. Like the first season, though, the ghosts are equally real and metaphorical, and we can probably expect some sort of secret disgrace to be exposed.
