343 Industries’ Halo Community Manager took to Twitter recently to quash rumours that they’re abandoning the Xbox One version of Halo Infinite and delaying the whole thing until 2022.
Hey Eric – we’re seeing lots of fake “leaks” out there, so please don’t believe everything you read. There are no plans to change our 2021 release or the devices and platforms we’ll be supporting. We’re building Halo Infinite to be the best it can be on each device/platform 👊

Surprise – the internet lies.
Basically, people on the internet have been claiming that the quality and performance of Halo Infinite will be reduced if it has to run on both the Xbox One and the fancy, new Xbox Series X (because no developer has ever had to develop for multiple platforms, with varying hardware capabilities, ever). That idea then somehow evolved into rumours that 343 Industries was abandoning the Xbox One version, because people are terrible. They probably just added on the extra delay rumour because they’re still testy about the official delay to 2021.
Moral of the story: people lie. Get your game updates via official channels, so you can be outraged over legitimate things instead of wasting all that energy on fake things.
