Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition will be taking place in our Spring, because hemispheres.
Much like with the Summer Edition of the festival, which took place in June, you’ll have a week to play hundreds of demos for games releasing in the next year, as well as take part in developer Q&A sessions and other live-stream events. It doesn’t mean you’ll get to play a demo of every single upcoming game on Steam, developers do have to opt-in to be involved, but there should be plenty to keep you occupied and it’s the perfect opportunity to try before you buy.
The Summer Edition featured a flood of 900 game demos, which was a little overwhelming and tricky to get through in a week. Hopefully the Autumn Edition will stagger the demos a little; give the lesser-known titles room to breathe.
Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition will be taking place from 7 – 13 October and it seems like Valve is making this festival idea a thing, with plans for future festivals in the works for 2021.
