After about seven months of silence, Red Dead Online is getting a “massive” update on 28 July.
Fans of Red Dead Online will know that the only updates the game has been getting lately are bonus XP days and discounts on things we already own or have enough of. The last major content update happened in December 2019 with the addition of the Moonshiners role. Players had even taken to dressing up as clowns to protest the perceived lack of attention.
Turns out, Rockstar was working on a major update this whole time and, apparently, figured being quiet about it was the best strategy for maintaining fan support. So, tomorrow, there’s an update arriving that includes a new Frontier Pursuit that focuses on the “secrets of naturalism”, a new Outlaw Pass, and a bunch of bug fixes and features that players have been asking for (also jaguars?).
But that’s not all, players can also look forward to more updates in the months to come, including an extension to an existing Frontier Pursuit; like how Moonshiners is an extension of the Trader role.
Does this mean the wild horses will finally have a purpose? We’ll just have to wait and see.
