I’d love to finish Borderlands 3’s Bounty of Blood DLC campaign, but there’s a bug that won’t let me and many other players who dared stray from the mission path.
Pay attention if you’re playing Borderlands 3’s third DLC; Bounty of Blood. There is a mission towards the end of the main story campaign called Road to Ruin, in which you must follow a certain collection of people in order to get to what is probably the final battle (I wouldn’t know). If you do not follow them when prompted, or if you stop following them to do some side-quest you forgot about, or if you change the Mayhem level, they will reach the end point without you and then stand around in front of a closed door, being useless.
You cannot progress because the door is, apparently, meant to be blasted open and that doesn’t happen if you don’t stick with the group like you’re told. The mission doesn’t fail, it just sits there, forever unticked, and you don’t get to complete the DLC – sucks to be you.
Why didn’t we just follow them, like good little Vault Hunters? We’d already been playing for a few hours, one of us had supper to make, and it seemed like a decent place to stop before committing to a boss battle. Also, games aren’t meant to break like that.
According to 2K Support, the development team is “currently looking into it”, but they don’t know when a fix will be implemented.
