Mundaun

Mundaun is a horror game hand-pencilled with love

And spooky goats doing spooky goat things.

Something “old and diabolical” is haunting the inhabitants of Mundaun, a small village in an isolated alpine valley, and you must travel to its greyscale peaks in order to investigate the suspicious nature of your grandfather’s death. As you make your way up the mountain, there will be many puzzles to solve, things to collect, eccentric locals to interview, and alpine beasties to out wit. Beware, gentle traveller; the more afraid you become, the slower you’ll move (which sounds counter-intuitive, but is an interesting game mechanic).

There’s no mention of combat on the Steam page, so this might be a good game for those of us who prefer to be deeply unsettled without having to worry about aim. Also, all the textures are hand-pencilled and if that doesn’t please you then I don’t know what will.

Mundaun, developed by Hidden Fields and published by MWM Interactive, is set for release on PC and consoles some time in Spring 2021, so potentially around March/April.
