Developer Cold Symmetry’s release deadlines haven’t allowed for a console beta, so it’s only PC players having all the fun for now. The beta lets you play through Fallgrim and the Abandoned Chamber.
In case you missed the trailers, Mortal Shell is an action-RPG in the Dark Souls tradition of relentless, unforgiving combat in a hell-blasted world of ruin and decay. You can inhabit the “shells” of former heroes to alter and enhance your combat prowess.
There’s still no set release date for Mortal Shell, but it’s due on PC (EGS), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 some time around October 2020, with a Steam release following in 2021. You can find the beta on the Epic Games Store, over here.
