What’s more irritating than half the people you come across in Apex Legends crouching to pretend they’re down? When they’re actually down, but can still shoot you. Well, the latest patch fixes that obnoxious bug and a few other things, including issues with Wraith’s hitbox, Revenant’s death protection, and Octane’s stim heal combo.
A small Apex Legends patch was released yesterday (30 June 2020) to address a number of bugs that crept in with Season 5 and, more recently, with the Lost Treasures event. You can find the full patch notes on Respawn’s Apex Tracker Trello board. For some reason, it was usually a Wraith that experienced the shoot-while-down bug, but I’ve also experienced it with Mirage and the patch notes don’t suggest it was Legend-specific.
Another important fix addresses the hitbox issue with Wraith’s Marble Goddess skin, introduced in the Lost Treasures event. Apparently, a fault in the hitbox settings related to the new skin was giving players the unintended perk of headshot immunity; registering potentially fatal headshots as, less damaging, body shots.
Octane had also received an unintended perk with a bug that allowed him to use his stim and heal at the same time. This ability wasn’t meant to be part of his recent buffs, so it’s gone now – sorry. Revenant, on the other hand, had received an unintended nerf that saw a revive cancelled if his death protection wore off during the revive; that shouldn’t happen any more.
Apex Legends is free to play on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 (with a Switch version on the way).
