What’s worse than missing out on a sweet deal? Finally deciding to buy something only to see it on sale shortly after you seal the deal. Well, the Epic Games Store, apparently, offers refunds on the difference, should this very thing happen to you.
Director of Studio MayDay Joshua Boggs recently discovered this refund policy feature and shared the happy news on Twitter.
Whoa whoa what?! I’ve clearly been around for too long because I find this refund for a discount I missed on the @EpicGames store absolutely mind blowingly generous. This is incredible? pic.twitter.com/eHfcus5E0K

This means that you will be refunded what you would have saved had you purchased the game on sale. The EGS refund policy states that games purchased before they go on sale can be refunded in full and then re-purchased straight away, but this partial refund situation is way less hassle. It’s not clear what the time limit between purchase and sale is, in order to qualify for a refund, but I assume not particularly long.
Also, in case you missed the news, Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition is currently free to download (in all its 90GB + glory) until 21 May 2020.
But you’re totally right, the Epic Games Store is the worst.
