Don’t expect even some news, much less an actual launch of The Elder Scrolls VI for “years”, sorry

That’s according to Bethesda marketing guy Pete Hines, who wants to “properly manage your expectations” about the sequel.

Debuted at E3 in 2018 with an “official announcement teaser” video that officially announced and teased but not much else, The Elder Scrolls VI has been a conspicuous no-show at every big industry expo and event since.

At the time, the game was in pre-production, and in 2020? Probably pre-production, because the studio is finishing its sci-fi RPG Starfield first. Which, like The Elder Scrolls VI, has also been a conspicuous no-show since its E3 2018 debut. Do the maths.

So the news about The Elder Scrolls Vi is that there’s no news, which probably shouldn’t even be news to fans of the series. Remember, the studio started work on Skyrim in about 2006, and it launched at the end of 2011, and there wasn’t a global pandemic in between.
