The final major update for Super Mario Maker 2 arrives tomorrow and it’s bringing the Koopalings, Super Acorn, and World Maker mode along with it.
Super Mario Maker 2 is a combination platformer and game creation game, for the Nintendo Switch, that lets you build your own custom Mario courses from assets found across the Super Mario franchise. There is also a Story Mode that lets you play your way through 100 Nintendo-built courses in order to collect coins to help rebuild Princess Peach’s castle.
The upcoming World Maker update will allow you to connect up to 40 custom courses together over eight worlds, to build your own world map, so you can have a proper adventure on your way to the castle (princess possibly included). The update also introduces new enemies, including the seven Koopalings, Mechakoopas, and the Phanto. But there are additional power ups, too, including the SMB2 Mushroom, the Frog Suit, Power Balloon, Super Acorn, and the Boomerang Flower.
The World Maker update for Super Mario Maker 2 will be available to download, for free, from 22 April 2020. You will need Nintendo Switch Online membership if you want to share your world with other players.
