Dialling up the hype-o-meters (and prospective PC upgrade budgets) of nanofans, the game’s social media account has posted a new tease, casually name-dropping original protagonist Nomad.
Hey Nomad, you’re still with us?

Between this, the recent “RECEIVING DATA” thing, and an April Fool joke that maybe wasn’t an April Fool joke but that’s the real April Fool joke, internet speculation is on a remaster or reboot or rewhatever of the 2007 franchise debut – the only game in the series featuring Nomad. And with the launch of next-gen consoles this holiday season, a razzle-dazzle tech demo game like Crysis is exactly what gamers want to nuke their new hardware.
Nomad’s current operational status, however, is unconfirmed. Since the events of Crysis, his narrative was concluded in a series of comics – with Nomad jumping in front of a rocket to save his nanobros Psycho and Prophet at the end. But is he dead? Dunno, and since the comics also included some space-time hopping, that’s kind of irrelevant, anyway. More importantly, this doesn’t preclude the dramatic re-introduction of Nomad in a sequel.
Stay tuned, kids.
