The studio was clearly concerned that nobody would understand that Peninsula is a sequel to the excellent, South Korean, zombies-on-a-train experience that is Train to Busan.
Set four years after the events of Train to Busan, Peninsula focusses on a soldier on a covert operation to “retrieve and survive”. Civilisation hasn’t exactly thrived during the zombie apocalypse and the existing humans might actually be more difficult to deal with than the hordes of undead.
Yeon Sang-ho returns to direct this sequel and I’m really looking forward to it. If you haven’t watched Train to Busan yet; get on that.
