To help keep everyone entertained during lockdowns and self-isolation, all The Lord of the Rings Online DLC, that was previously paid-for content, will be free until 30 April 2020.
Developers Standing Stone Games made the announcement on their blog.
‘I wish it need not have happened in my time,’ said Frodo.
‘So do I,’ said Gandalf, ‘and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.’
This means that all quests, instances, and skirmishes, including from the expansion packs, will be free to play through 30 April. On top of that, the Curator will be returning from 26 March and, between 26 March and 6 April, the Baggins’ Birthday event will be available to play along with a 10 percent virtue XP boost.
The Lord of the Rings Online is a free-to-play PC and OS X MMORPG that lets you quest your way across Middle Earth for glory, fellowship, and fine-ass pipe-weed.
Go on, you tricksy hobbitses, go get lost in another world; this one’s a little rubbish right now.
