The corp’s much-hyped console debut turned out to be a snoozy 50-minute talk about maths, and no actual presentation of the PS5.
Some 600,000 fans tuned into Sony’s livestream event, hosted by PS5 designer Mark Cerny, to find out that the console features, uh, faster RAM.

Also, awkwardly, 10.28 teraflops of GPU processing power, which is more than the PS4’s 4.2 teraflops but less than the Xbox Series X’s 12 teraflops, and teraflops are important because #TERAFLOPS. At launch, the PS5 will include backwards compatibility support for only about 100 PS4 games – not because of the architecture, though, but because the PS5 is so hyper-fast that PS4 games can’t even keep up.
