So PlayStation doesn’t get to keep it all to themselves any more.
HBO recently announced that they’re working on a live-action adaptation of The Last of Us and it’s being written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Naughty Dog vice president Neil Druckmann.

The first instalment of The Last of Us follows Ellie and Joel, on their brutal cross-country tour of post-apocalyptic America, as they search for a potential cure to a fungal plague that has decimated the population. The TV adaptation will, apparently, cover this plot line with, possibly, a little bit of extra content from the upcoming The Last of Us Part II.
Druckman couldn’t be happier to be working with Mazin.
With Chernobyl, Craig and HBO created a tense, harrowing, emotional masterpiece. I couldn’t think of better partners to bring the story of The Last of Us to life as a television show.
Mazin is also working on the Borderlands movie adaptation and recently tweeted a list of his favourite games, which included The Last of Us (obviously), Skyrim, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption, and BioShock, just in case anyone was worried about his gaming knowledge.
