It’s been two years since we last saw One for All in League of Legends and the next patch is bringing it back, for a limited time. Let the clone wars begin!
One for All is a game mode variant of classic Summoner’s Rift, last enabled to celebrate April Fools Day 2018, except each team of five is made up of the same champion. So, you can have five Gnars versus five Ziggs, for instance, and just explode from all the cute, I guess.
Before a One for All match starts, players go through a Vote Pick process that lets them ban six champions and then vote on which one they will all play as. If no champion gets a clear majority (three votes), the team is assigned a random one (as punishment, I assume, for not getting along).
Due to the unique nature of the game mode, some champions and their abilities work slightly differently and Karthus and Teemo are usually disabled, for obvious reasons, outside of custom matches. Riot has added eight new champions and some balancing tweaks to League of Legends, since One for All was last playable, so a bunch of new strategies are bound to emerge.
One for All is currently available to play on the Public Beta Environment, but everyone else will get to experience it once the 10.6 patch comes out on 18 March 2020.
