According to Blizzard’s recent blog update, feedback from their BlizzCon demo of Diablo 4 suggested that a lot of people wanted the option to rebind the left mouse button to anything other than attack, so PC players will be able to customise their keys, to some extent, including for skill slots. Blizzard is “committed to supporting skill rebinding for controllers as well”, though, because Diablo 4 is being developed simultaneously for PC and consoles. And so ends an era, an era that probably contributed to a lot of carpal tunnel syndrome.
That’s not the only UI flexibility Diablo 4 has to offer, though, PC players will also be able to change the position of the action bar (the collection of health, mana, skills information) from bottom-left to centered, depending on what works for them. For console players, it’ll be staying bottom-left, sorry.
There’s also good news for couch co-op. In Diablo 4, Blizzard is separating the UI so that both players with be able to open their menus AT THE SAME TIME.
We are, truly, living in a time of wonders, but is it even Diablo if you’re not pushing the left mouse button to the edge of infinity?
