That’s definitely how that saying goes. Anyway, this will be CCP Games’ third go at bringing an EVE Online spin-off FPS into our lives.
CCP Games recently announced the cancellation of development on a game code-named Project Nova, which was going to be a co-op FPS based in the EVE Online universe. The game was meant to be a spiritual successor to DUST 514, a free-to-play EVE Online FPS, for the PlayStation 3, which was shut down in 2016. Project Nova had been in development since 2016, but disappointing playtests and player research led to it getting shelved.
…the gameplay experience in its current form does not live up to our original vision and would not achieve our ambitious goals for this project.
CCP Games’ head of public relations, George Kellion, took to Reddit to say that they’re working on another multiplayer, sci-fi shooter, in the London studio, but they’re not ready to talk about it, yet. Also, they’re not telling us the internal code names anymore and they’re definitely not using the Project Nova code name, so stop even thinking about it.
Knowledge of the code names is clearly what jinxed the whole thing.
