Apex Legends is almost a year old and Respawn is celebrating with a new Legend, Forge, and a new season, Four.
How time flies when you’re having free-to-play fun. In celebration of Apex Legends’ first anniversary, Respawn is releasing a new Legend onto the field. Forge is a charismatic melee brawler ready to pummel the bejeezus out of anyone who gets in his way, with the help of his Shatter Gauntlets and corporate sponsor, Hammond Robotics.
Season four will also see the introduction of a new weapon, a bolt-action sniper rifle, called the Sentinel, that promises to cut through enemy armour like nobody’s business.
There will be some changes to ranked play, too, with Series 3 lasting three months, but divided into two splits, each with a soft reset. Split 1 will take place in World’s Edge, while Split 2 takes place in King’s Canyon. Since so many players are reaching Apex Predator tier, a new tier is being added between Diamond and Apex Predator, called Master Tier. You’ll need 10,000 RP to reach Master Tier and only the top 500 players per platform will make it to Apex Predator. For more details on the ranked play updates, check out this news post from EA.
On top of all this, anyone playing between 4 and 11 February gets an Anniversary Gift.
